No, this isn't real...which is perhaps fortunate since that means that Fenwick is confined to the realms of fiction - something I am certain that Freddy and co would be happy to sacrifice their real-world status for.

The spiritual/paranormal area and the slush of programming, paraphernalia, and oddities which accompany it are great hubs around which to focus some fun writing and base some great characters. The opportunities are endless. So, basically the Septic Circle is a time consuming work of fiction, as the paranormal and other detritus is explored through the eyes and lives of the Circle members - the starring characters, without whom none of this would be.

The site mainly focuses on the characters' diaries, meeting transcripts, press-cuttings, and other fragments which spin the threads of their intertwined stories. Basically, mundane debris which makes up their lives - lives, which most of the time are pretty normal and not that 'paranormal', though 'abnormal' is still debatable.

It covers everything from bad psychics, small mediums, spirit guides, arrests, cakes, cold reading, warm tea, hot coffee, smug wizardry, book signings, big hair, haunted homes, haunted castles, haunted toasters, perverted landlords, the glut of paranormal programming, chat shows, night vision, home baking, and most other supernatural detritus and normal everyday nonsense, all largely presented through the monthly diaries of each of the characters, serving to spin the tale.

What started ultimately as a few short journal entries on a slow afternoon at work has turned into something more as the characters grew and their lives took shape and then fucking took over. A labour of love and a fantastically fun, fictional exercise, the Septic Circle is part of the creator's life, and Fenwick Arcana, part of her nightmares...

The writer is aware that there are people who take themselves and everything else far too seriously and the field of spirituality and the paranormal seems to host an inordinate number of these. Simply put - it is fiction, and a slice of humour. If you don't like it, then I would politely suggest that you move on. Please don't waste time bitching, huffing, or becoming abusive because you've thrown your toys out of the pram about a swipe at the age old tradition of anus reading or tea leaf mush. Such contacts will be ignored. Laughed at, then ignored.
