Jason 'Jay' Taylor

The most apathetic and sceptical member of the circle. His unwillingness to embrace the circle and the psychic existence in general is a constant sore point among his colleagues. He has been quoted as saying 'the only way he wants to embrace the psychic world is round the neck of all the fake, opportunistic wankers that swim in that tainted pond', leading many to often wonder why he remains a member of the circle when he clearly has little belief in, and indeed has a noted amount of scathing, acerbic scepticism, for the area which the circle encompasses.

His apathy towards the psychic and supernatural is considerable but he religiously attends all book signings by his fellow circle-goer Fenwick Arcana. Suspicion has often fallen upon Mr Taylor as being the harbinger of the chaos that always seems to dog these events (to the chagrin of Mr Arcana) but even after close questioning, there has never been sufficient proof of foul play or mischief. Mr Taylor’s open enjoyment of such chaos, however, is unabashed and usually shared by fellow circle-goers.

Mr Taylor has a colourful criminal record including a charge of Criminal Damage and Breach of the Peace several years ago when Colon Wry, a noted medium was visiting the area and Mr Taylor was observed to be heckling in an obscene and profane manner. His arrest for this public order offence revealed several bags of sugar on his person which tied him to the vandalising of Mr Wry's limousine (which had caused it to break down in the high street, causing a mile long tail back earlier that day.)

Mr Taylor pleaded not guilty in court on the grounds that Colon Wry was ‘a shit’ and a ‘cold reader’ and that ‘he had done the town a service.’ This outburst received a standing ovation from the public gallery and order had to be called. The judge, Justice Hatt took a lenient view, taking into consideration Mr Wry's derogatory comments about the town and it's people and the damage his stretch limousine caused to a bicycle in the high street and deemed the defendant’s actions 'bloody justifiable'. Mr Taylor was given a small fine and released, which caused outrage among Mr Wry’s supporters, one of whom was a member of the circle, Mr Arcana. (Mr Arcana has subsequently fallen out with Mr Wry after an accusation of upstaging during Screamingly Haunted Live)

Mr Taylor continues to partake in the weekly circle meets as ‘he has nothing better to do and at least it keeps his mind off any intelligent subjects.’

Note: Any connection between him and the 'egg incident' at the recent book signing of Mr Arcana is purely speculative.
